Finally a sturdy girls backpack Apr 04, 2011
By Pam S. This is the second backpack I am purchasing for this schoolyear, to replace one that literally fell apart but cost the same as this one. The previous backpack start ripped near the shoulder straps from the weight of her books and there was only one zipper and it was flimsy at best. I will never buy from a discount or chain store again. This pack is far superior to anything available at the mall. Very solid zippers from both sides, wide diameter allows for numerous books, snow pants and shoes, fabric is thick and coated, and shoulder straps are nicely padded. This is the perfect backpack for my 2nd grader and she loves the design. I did a lot of research and preferred the Hana design to other Dakine backpacks for our particular needs. Only thing that would make it better would be if I could find a matching lunch tote.

Average backpack Sep 04, 2011
By AndieCast I was skeptical about purchasing a backpack online because I like to check out the features beforehand. However, I decided to read the reviews and decided to buy it, knowing that if I didn't like it, I could just return it. I will review this backpack with what I liked about it and what I thought made it average. I purchased the Avalon model and the color and print are beautiful. The mesh side pocket for a water bottle was also a nice feature and something I look for as a student. However, it was rather small and I was expecting it to be small, so I would only recommend it to students that aren't in high school or college, or depending on your book load. The two front pockets were nice and spacious and the sunglasses pocket was a nice feature. The only thing I did not like is that the backpack had no lining on the inside as do most of my backpacks. Well, I mean that the pockets in front are not made and attached outside of the actual backpack, so it's all one backpack with pockets built coming out of the backpack rather than a backpack with additional pockets built outside. Other than that, it was an all right backpack. Nothing spectacular.

It's A Decent Back Pack! Aug 30, 2011

We bought this for our seven year old to take to and from school everyday. It is okay. But honestly, she likes the one we bought from Costco for far less money much more. And, it is plain and not as fun, but it does have the right compartments and ease of use.
This is an okay back pack. There is nothing wrong with it, but it is tough to fit a lunch box into it, and it is a little tight for a three ring binder that comes and goes each day. Also, there isn't room for library books and the binder, without it being too snug.
Dance or gymnastic gear doesn't fit into it with the usual school things. It is cool looking, but not so cool to use.
I want to much to say something spectacular, but this back pack doesn't live up to spectacular. It is a standard back pack, and it is way over-priced for what it is.
very good Jan 02, 2012
By ting I like this school bag and friends think it looks pretty. If it has a small bag inside would be better.
